Nikon shutter question ???!!!?

to start out
so i recently bought a nikon d60.
for the first few days i thought this was a really cool camera
but then after shooting with a d3000 and a canon rebel
it seems the shitter feels and sounds sooo much cleaner and faster harder etc i dont know how to explain it
is it normal that my camera does not sound as good ?
is it because its a little bit older ?
is there any way to improve my shutter ?
didnt mean to say shitter :) haha

shitter? lol

The Nikon D60, Cannon Rebel TLi, Cannon Rebel XS, and the Nikon D3000 has a shutter speed of 3 frames per second, so regardless you will not find a faster speed unless you use a Rebel XSi or D5000.

I do know what you mean by the harsher sounds but that is just because the D60 is an older model... nothing is wrong with it.

There is no way to improve the shutter (cheaply - unless changing the settings of course) other then buying a new camera.

Try turning to the shutter setting and turning it all the way up. Then see what camera is firing faster.

Update: Not to be rude but I don't want you to get the wrong information but "=] Me" is wrong. The shutter has nothing to do with the lens because the shutter is controlled by the body itself.
Also 'A' is not auto setting it is Aperture and that will slow your shutter down and not let you change it. 'S' for Shutter is what you want.
