Will my Nikon d3000 work with a .42 HD Super Wide Panoramic Macro Lens attachment?

I am looking at this attachment for my Nikon D3000 and was wondering if i need a special lens or attachment ring for it? I have the standard 18-55mm lens. Could i purchase this package and be fine or am i missing something?

It will probably work - sort of...

Issue 1: The description on the Amazon page does not specifically state the size of the filter ring it attaches to, nor is it possible to tell this by looking at the images provided.

Issue 2: The quality of these add on lenses is atrocious!

This is what is called an add on lens and they are not good quality but are affordable. If you quality images, then you need to look at actual lenses.

Below are a few links, one is to a B&H Photo lens search I did that will list super wide angles for Nikon and remember to figure the 1.5x factor, for example a 8mm lens will be a 12mm lens with a DX Nikon like your D3000. There is also a link to Adorama to have another vendor to check out.

The photo.net link is potentially very valuable, it has a large online photo community and has discussion forums where you can communicate with other photographers and gain information from their experiences.

Hope this helps.

The description of the item says it will fit on your camera/lens combination. If it doesn't, you have Amazon's return policy to fall back on.

Attachments like this for lenses are usually of poor quality optics (the price should be a dead giveaway compared with a true fisheye lens).

Still, you get what you pay for...
